Frequently Asked Questions – Your Guide to an Amazing Fishing Trip!

Below are some questions we typically get, but if you have questions, please feel free to ask!

Have Questions? We've Got Answers!

Planning your fishing charter should be easy and exciting! Below, you’ll find answers to the most frequently asked questions about our trips, what to expect, and how to prepare.

What Should We Bring?

We recommend you bring something to eat, drinks (if you have something specific you’d like), sunscreen and anything else you think might make your day more enjoyable and comfortable.

What kind of fish will we catch?

Fishing trips have a great variety of fish, and they are all exciting to catch. To see what some of our other guests have caught, check out our gallery here on our website. You will have a good opportunity to catch amberjack, grouper, snapper, sailfish and wahoo.  Other big game fish are possible as well, such as a king mackerel or even a shark.

Can we bring the kids fishing?

Easy! YES!  Fishing is a great way to spend time with the family and kids LOVE it!  Our trips are definitely PG and safe for children of all ages!  Don’t forget though, depending on their age, they may need to wear a life jacket for the whole trip.

Is there a bathroom on the boat?

We are a smaller boat.  We do have a portable toilet for use, but don’t expect much privacy.  You’ll want to use the restroom before we leave.

What is your cancellation policy?

When you book a trip with us, we take a 20% deposit. There is a lot of work to get things ready for your exciting day and we need 48 hours notice to cancel the trip. If you cancel prior to the 48 hour notice we require, then you will get a full refund of your deposit. If you cancel with less than 48 hours before your trip, you’ll forfeit your deposit. In the event of inclement weather (at the Captains discretion) we will reschedule OR provide a full refund.

What if I get seasick?

We recommend if you are prone (or not sure) to seasickness that you take a Bonine or Dramamine (available at Walgreens, Walmart, CVS, etc.) the night before and the morning of your trip. If you are on a Private Charter, we can always return when you want.

Is the tip included in the price?

Tips aren’t included in charter prices. The mates work for tips and will ensure you have an amazing time while you are with us.

Our Charter Trips - Explained

Private Charter

On a private charter, your group (up to 6 people) are the only ones on the boat (of course with a Captain and Mate).

Group Charter

On group charters, you share the boat (and expense) with everyone. These are ideal if you want to fish and don't have a group to go with.

Dolphin Trip

Want to just go for a boat ride and see the dolphins and wildlife? This relaxing trip is for you!

Kids Trip

Looking to take the little ones on a saltwater fishing experience? Our 3 hour kids trip allows you to catch and release multiple different species.

Refund/Cancellation Policy - All bookings require a 20% deposit to confirm the trip. The remaining 80% can be paid in person at the dock to the Captain upon arrival. Cancellations more than 7 days prior to the trip will be refunded in full. Cancellations less than 7 days prior to the confirmed trip date will forfeit your deposit at the discretion of Time Off Charters.
